guess I"m either old school, or just stuck in the mud. I am still using USGI issue aluminum mags. Never bought one of those plastic ones, as the ones I have function just fine.
I walked through a gunshow yesterday with my wife's cousin, who's quite a bit younger. He's a 33 yo Navy vet. Great kid. There were a ton of Colt aluminum mags some guy had-about $13 apiece. He asked me if they were any good. I replied that they were fine. Not too long ago, the Colt's would have been considered top-shelf and wouldn't have been that easy to find. I don't know if they are or were any better than USGI, but because of the name they were always in demand. Now it's all PMag.
