Correct, but it is frame mounted rather than slide mounted. A frame mounted 1911 safety is pushed down to deactivate the safety rather than up. Most DA/SA safety setups requiring a push up to deactivate the safety are located on the slide. The SR22 is the only gun of which I am aware that operates the way it does, and I think it would be confusing and error prone in an emergency. Now, I realize it is not the type of gun I would be likely to be carrying in a true emergency, which is the reason I am ok with the gun. I also gave one to a niece, and it is her only gun and she is not likely to get confused by it.
