They (Ruger) may feel that way, but after handling and shooting a RAR last weekend; I believe there is a big difference between the two. I much prefer the all weather Hawkeye over the cheap RAR. However, there seems to be a big demand for cheap azzed plastic rifles these days.. To each their own..


Ditto on that. Had a Ruger American in .30-06 and could not get it to shoot well. In spite of the fact that it was a gift from Dad, it got sold to help fund an all Weather Hawkeye. No regrets as the Hawkeye is a far superior rifle. And it shoots well.
