Somewhere I have a printout, as I recall I clocked 76. The surprising thing is it was a small resort esentially a beginner intermediate hill but they had a speed skiing event and I just had to try it. It was a warm spring day and I waxed wrong as I figured I should have been able to break 80. The guy who won went over 90 which amazed me for such a short hill. The real fun was having my ski pop off on the runout after my last run, doing a faceplant and sliding a long way.

Fastest in 4 wheels was 130 per speedo.

I've got a 2000 Freightliner with a C-12 Cat and I think that truck is 425hp. 18 speed Fuller. The guy that I bought it from said he doesn't know what it's set for, but he had it up to 100. I sure hope none of my guys have tried to find out how fast it'll go.

140 Had a girlfriend that owned a Porsch 911 back in the early 70's. The speedo went up to 180 IIRC so me and a buddy took it for a joy ride one night but I couldn't get it over 140.
I was pretty disappointed so I dumped her ass.

Went 114 on a MC once,,,, that was some scary chit. All I could think about was the front tire blowing out. Not near as fun as you would think.

My folks had a 1974 Ford LTD Country Squire station wagon and it had a 460 in it. That thing would haul a$$.

I had a '68 with a 351 Cleveland. I paid $75.00 for it. It had no hubcaps and ran on about 6 or 7 cylinders (7 on a good day) and it was slow as chitt. But it got me to where I needed to go instead of hitchhiking.

The speedometer had 110 on it, and the needle was WAY buried (as in going down into the gas gauge area under the far right side of the speedometer). Based upon some of the videos on this thread of guys going way faster, and about what the dashed line started to look like, I'd say somewhere around 140.

Oh, and it was in one of these, with a 4-speed automatic and a 350 cu.in. V-8, also coming down a hill and across a nice flat bridge with it topped out.

In fact, it was even the same color scheme.

We had the Buick version with a 400 in it. It only registered 85 but was problem to bury grin

I'm not a top speed kind of guy. Had one of the newer 5.0L mustangs for a while. 100mph came on quick and there were still three gears left. Stomping on it was always a cool party trick with the kids, and we loved the car. Never saw how fast it would run though.

Moved shortly after finishing building this car with my buddy

It got him into the 300 mph club which was the goal of building it. I lost track of how many class records it set but it's still racing over 20 years later.

Just under 200 mph, in a Ruff Porsche turbo, on the autobahn, in 1984. A guy in the shooting club owned an Audi/Porsche dealership, I became friends with, let me take the twin turbo bad beast out once.
WOW!
My M power BMW 323i, with B6 2.8l 300ps conversion, would cruise at 160. Took it to 180 once, and it scared me too much. Going from a normal 140 -160 cruising speed to 180, is a big jump in how quick things come at you.
Got pics of my white streak around here somewhere ?
Miss that car. She was mean.....

Hell, I thought someone would call BS (they'd be wrong) on the 140ish in the Olds wagon.

Momentum and downhill with tonnage is a SOB. Damned car seemed to glide and handle REALLY well once it got to and over 110, though.
