Nothing like the enjoyment of getting my first humidor up and working, humidity at 75%, then unwrapping 19 new fresh cigars and placing them in the humidor.

I know, there were twenty in the pack but I have to have something to celebrate. grin

Good for you! I picked up that habit (cigars) in college. I quit, sold my humidor and stash to buy a Beretta 92FS INOX that I dearly 'needed.' Wish I had not done that. Humidor, and contents, would still be in prime condition even if left undisturbed, save for refreshing the fluid. Gun is long gone for something else I 'needed.'

I have a tobacco pipe and a small stash of pipe tobacco that gets dug into every 3-6 months these days.

Still wish I had the humidor. Sounds like you found a new home outside WA. Glad to hear you're enjoying it my friend. smile

If you have time and are able, would love to see photos of the full humidor!

What makes you think they were "fine" and not cheapies from the local gas station?

Retirement SS and VA disability for a life changing condition from active duty. Yep, I had enough to tithe pay my rent, my bills, food, and saved up $44.50 on cigars and a humidor. Sorry if that bothers you Ed but that is just the way it is.

Scott,
Don't get too worried about what EdM thinks......he's newly retired from a company that probably made butt-loads of money working for our government...............anyway, he wasn't like you and a lot of others of us who were working for peanuts to ensure our government that our shores were protected from those people that would wish the worst for us.
You ever wonder if it ever occurs to those types just what this country would be without people like us?

Scott should have seen that one coming.

When you put ALL your personal info on a public forum over a period of years, SOMEONE is always gonna be connecting dots that are not on the same page.

Nothing you can do about those who just "imagine" their own dots.

Scott: Try and maintain humidity between 68 & 72 % humidity.. Otherwise, congrats and enjoy!

I don't get it Ed, a man gets a disability in service to his country and he gets a comment like this? Please explain.

Hell as much as I dislike SAC and NWA if either of them were disabled in service to their country I would never mention it in a negative way. No vet deserves that no matter if you like them or not.

Listen to Jorge, and in addition I'll say tend to the 68% number.

Scott, it sounds like you get your cigars from the same suppliers I do... they supposedly come in packs of 20 or 25, but what gets into my humidor is invariably 19 or 24. Damn if I can figure it out.

It was a $44.50 special from Thompson. I took a chance the the cigars would be smokable. Last night I had one and it was like a ten dollar cigar. Smoked well, easy draw, held an ash well, stayed lit, burned even, and had a lot of creamy smoke.

I have had better but not at that price.
