Not a Remington but I have several Winchester M70 XTRs, a .270, a .300 Win. Mag. and a .338 Win, Mag that have stocks I would swear are McMillans. Those were the Winlites. And yes, they were McMillan stocks.
Most people don't really want the truth.
They just want constant reassurance that what they believe is the truth.

They have been required to install RFIDs in the bolts or receivers of all U.S. made guns for more than 5 years.

It sends out a signal so that the government can track each gun. Best wrap them in tinfoil.

Remember Remington's brainfart EtroniX rifles?
I was assigned to shoot one of those abortions. No questions, just shoot it and write about it. In fact, I still have some of the ammo around here some place.
Anyway, my brother-in-law was a computer nerd and he looked at the circuitry that managed the EtroniX's trigger and ignition system. He said that the computer stuff inside the rifle was WAYYY more than it needed to be, just to fire a cartridge.
At the time, GPS was just getting big and he was of the opinion that a satellite could downlink (or whatever) and find where the rifle and shooter was. Kinda like the OnStar that's on most GM trucks and cars.
Sounded like hocus-pocus to me at the time. Today, I'm beginning to believe.
Blessings,
Steve

bead blast it off and cover it with cerakote Its covered by a closed bolt handle. Not any more... They put one on the left side of the action just above the stock show line. It's right below the front scope ring base.
