About sixty years ago I killed my first bull elk. I didn't "take" him or "harvest" him, I shot and killed him with my 30-06. No pictures were taken but that hunt still lives in my memory like it was no more than a month or so ago. Even more vivid than the two dozen or so that I killed since then. My hunting was never intended to impress anybody but simply to put good meat on the table.
The Mayans had it right. If youre going to predict the future, its best to aim far beyond your life expectancy, lest you wind up red-faced in a bunker overstocked with Spam and ammo.

Impress? Wow you guys are way to f..ing up tight. Sorry the technology didn't exist 60 years ago... Even 10 years ago really. What's the big deal catching a guys first animal on tape to cherish that moment foreve. Smh.... Shaking my head for you old timers
All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.
