I don't think Trump started his run to become POTUS with any sincere desire to do so. I personally believe that he wanted to disrupt the status quo of insiders in Washington and bring to light what the "silent majority" truly believes and he has done so amazingly well.

With that said it would not surprise me at all if Trump continues to rip into everyone else in the race with the exception of Ben Carson and then at the appropriate time laterals the ball to Dr. Carson to run with it and then urges Trump followers to do the same.

Has this thought occurred to anyone else?

Interesting thought.
I do like Ben Carson, he does seem "Presidential" and seems to want to make the right changes to get America back on track.

Betting on Cruz instead of Carson. Would not bother me a bit with either

Trump is a publicity whore and never shares it wilingly, much less "hands off".

He'll ride this as long as he can. Should he win, he'll surround himself with the people "he" can find and figure it out from there. He won't be an apologist.

"IF" this were to happen, Trump would think of it as being a king maker, with the power and influence it would come with.

Trump doesn't do anything where his goal isn't to win.

He's in it to win it.

Exactly where I was coming from.

Plus the benefit of the 24 hour free publicity he is receiving.

Trump is in it to win.

He says the things he says to win.

He will do the things he says so he can win a second term.

He will not bash those that conservatives like. He will bash the fugk out of those that conservatives do not like.

So Carson and Cruz are likely no-go zones for his campaign. This is not because he likes them, it is because it will increase his chance of winning. i.e. Their supporters will become his supporters if/when they don't get the nomination and he does.

People worth 10 billion fugking dollars don't need to come up with convoluted ways to have power and influence.

The only way for him to achieve the last bit of power and influence he doesn't yet have, is to win.

That's just anti-Obama rhetoric that his campaign knows Republicans want to hear.

They all do that schit.

Without a voting record and his daily flip flops, who really knows.

Tomorrow it could be 180 out.

You just summed up the past 200 years of politics in America.

True, but the power and influence would be a bonus. The real benefit is to his ego as a kingmaker.

I don't see anybody like Trump being happy as "kingmaker."

Despite what people think of him, I think it's pretty clear he wants to win.
