Two points: Note that even WW pistol primers are hotter than blue blazes - and that seemed to show up in your LG load. I have an ancient supply of Western 1 1/2 pistol primers (they're the rounded face type, which tells you how old they REALLY are!) and they are the most accurate of all in my Hornet. I seldom report that, because they haven't been made for at least 40 years. I suspect they barely spark, but Lil Gun thrives on them.

Second, if you mentioned using a Lee crimp, I missed it. Didja?

Nope, I'm shooting a Hornady 40 gr Vmax bullet without a cannelure. I can't bring myself to crimp on a non-cannelured bullet even though Mr. Lee says it's ok.

I do have a FCD in 25/06 and haven't prooved to myself it has any benefit.

Lil'Gun and a 35grain V-Max work super out of the wifes 77/22H!
12.8grains of Lil'Gun with a Federal 100 primer is one great load for taking vermin!
If she does her part the wife can put 3-shots at 100yards into a 1" square all day long!

Mr Lee is correct, Greg: it doesn't hurt. But it DOES help - at least in the Hornet. Try a group or two if you have a Lee FCD for the Hornet. Like the rabbi said, "It couldn't hoit!"
