I think fixed sights have their place with some guns and adjustable sights have their place on others. Obviously the fixed sight guns are for shorter distance shooting. If you are going much over 100 yards better go with the Adjustables. That being said even for relatively close <40yards I prefer the Express sights on the Freedom Arms. They are king for close up saving your bacon. Course above is for us older guys, I understand Dusty Shot a big brownie at 100 yards with a Vaquero.

I hate fixed sight on a hunting revolver.

A Doe walks out of the woods today and says, that is the last time I'm going to do that for Two Bucks.

don't think I would ever buy a fixed sight FA revolver. In fact my only fixed sight handguns are
Walther PPK-S 380
Beretta Tomcat 32 acp
S&W airlight 38 special.

I would buy a fixed sight FA in 475 Linebaugh or 500 Wyoming Express if it were sighted for a heavy bullet at 900fps. That would be an easy shooting, but still quite powerful, load.

The problem with a fixed sight FA is that the sights generally are regulated for the heaviest loads, and I find those loads to be unpleasant to shoot on a sustained basis.

I don't own a fixed sighted FA I only purchase ones with adjustable rear square notch sights.

Same for me, the only handguns I would own with fixed sights is a CCW.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

..beat out by the Ruger Flat Top...really a good choice...short 97s are harder to shoot than short Rugers...
