The Indiana Jones character probably had a .44 S&W Spl or (even rarer, a .45 Colt) triple lock, judging by the brief look we all saw of the brass, a real hero's gun. lol The big deal to me is that the .45 ACP revolver is really a factory +P .45 Colt in it's other identity as a .45 Auto Rim. My 25-2 shoots great with a 255 cast SWC at 1000 fps (from 6 1/2" bbl), which my .45 ACP pistols can't (well, shouldn't) match. Not my everyday flavor, but a good hunting load if my other "magnums", like the .41 Mag, .44 Spl, +P, .44 Mag, .45 Colt +P take the day off.
Not to compare apples to oranges, are the Taurus revolvers very good in the quality department, for the price (I assume lower than the S&Ws)? Have any of you see a S&W Mountain Gun in .45 ACP? There are rumors but no sightings, at least around here.

Carson, I have the S&W Mountain Gun in .45 ACP. It's real cool. Nice thin barrel, and I think it's built on the L-Frame. Stainless. You can load em hot with this gun. Hotter than with an auto. Also can load heavy hard cast lead SWCs, which are good hunting loades. Nice medium weight revolver.
