Have had several of each.. I will take the .300 every time . If I want more than a .30 I step up to my .375 .. I am an Elmer fan, but for me the .30's are tops.

brooksrange, I'm with Allen Day on this one, though I'm getting a little higher (2950) velocities. The 225 TTSX has a good BC(.514),because it is a monolithic bullet you will have great weight retention(sectional density after impact),starting out with a larger bore diameter. What's not to like about it! memtb

I probably hit more elk with a pickup than you have with a rifle. I have yet to see anyone claim Leupold has never had to fix an optic. I know I have sent a few back. 2 MK 6s, a VX-6, and 3 VX-111s.

I've shot 8 elk with my 300 Weatherby and factory 180 grain Nosler Partitions, none have taken more than a step or two! I'm assuming the 200 grainers will do the same!

I prefer classic. Semper Fi I used to run with the hare. Now I'm envious of the tortoise and I do my own stunts but rarely intentionally
