120gr. BT.
Deer and dogs.
But this is purely out of laziness because that bullet shoots well out of anything, and I tend to shoot gophers with my deer rifles. The 162gr A-Max is pretty freakin' UBER but beats me up when shooting in the summer.

wsm, I have only shot whitetails, antelope and prairie dogs with my 7mm-08...
Shot several antelope and deer with the 139 gr. Horn. flat base..
A relative killed a nice buck antelope with 100 gr. Sierra hollow points..
I have also shot deer with the 120 NBTB.. I would say this is my favorite bullet for this rifle..
Have some Berger's loaded but only use them for shooting water jugs.. When they are gone, I will not replace..
I like my 7mm-08, but it is more of a fun gun for me.. Plan to give it to my namesake in a few more seasons.. It will make a great rifle to start out on...

I have used the Nosler 120 BT and used it on whitetail deer. I used a light load of Reloader 15. It was 40.5 or 41.0 grains which should have given me around 2800 fps. I had more DRT shots on deer than anything else I have tried. I shot them as close as 20 feet to as far as 250 yards and none took more than a step.

Just purchased my first 7mm-08 recently. Planning to use the the 140gr Sierra ProHunter over IMR4350 this season. I figure it will do fine on our small southern whitetails. I do want the try the 120NBT at some point after reading so many glowing reviews. If SPS will ever get in some blems, I'm going to stock up.
Those who must raise their voice to get their point across are generally not intelligent enough to do so in any other way.

Whitetail, mule deer, aoudad, hogs with 120 BT, 140 Accubond, 140 Partition. Planning on taking it to Namibia next July for plains game, intending to try 140 TTSX or 140 Nosler Etip.

Deer, antelope, elk.
140 Partitions at 2850 fps MV, ranges from 100-200 (deer, a bunch), 310 (only one speed goat so far), 68 to 346 (elk, 3 bulls).
One shot each. But that's more a function of placement than anything else.
I shot a 4x4 Roosevelt 2 years ago at 68 yards, DRT. My dad killed a big 5x5 Rocky Mountain at 225 this year, one shot over the heart, the bull went maybe 30 yards. I killed a spike a couple of days later at 346, DRT.
The 7mm-08 is my go-to cartridge.

I will revisit the BT's but they didn't work in my particular rifle. I ended up getting 130 Speer BTSP and 140 TTSX. Use the Speer for deer/hogs/coyotes/varmints. 140 TTSX for anything larger than deer.

The 140 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip. If I couldn't have that, I'd likely run the 139 grain Hornady.

I mostly use 140 gr Core-Lokts or 139 gr Hornady Interlocks. I've taken antelope, whitetails, and a couple hogs with them.
Found a box of 162 gr Hornady round nose in a grab bag a couple years ago and have used them a little bit. One whitetail and one smallish black bear so far so not a great amount of reference. When these are done I'll try some 145 gr Grand Slams I also found in the same bag.

120 gr TTSX, and a bunch of white tails! Yep. After it went through four feet of whiptail fore to aft. 119.8 grains on this guy Plus a half dozen others.

If I am shooting whitetail, the 120 gr bt at 2800 fps is mild on me and deadly on deer. If I want to shoot anything bigger, the 120 ttsx at 3200 fps will do it at reasonable ranges. Thinking about trying the 140 gr accubond just for fun.

120 B-tip is pretty dam hard to beat. Barnes 120gr TTSX will. I shot alot of deer with the Nosler 120gr B-Tip then Barnes came out with the 120gr TTSX switch to it and shot alot of deer then Sierra came out with the Game king in 140gr HPBT and I'm in the process of shooting alot of deer with it. Loading 52grs of RL-19 with the 140gr Sierra and it really knocks the deer down.
