The mild weather is not helping.

My son & I took a couple deer & a bear so far, and I'd like to try Weds or Thurs 'till the end of gun Sunday, but it looks to be even warmer during that period.

Yup very unseasonably mild weather this fall
Just pulled camera cards on property I shot the doe a couple pictures of smaller bucks I had seen in archery season,busted up 9 pt and a 6pt.
Maybe they are starting to move a bit now
I'm gonna hunt the property with the big buck tonight watch the edge of a cut corn field

It's crazy warm here 60 degrees
Feels like spring turkey season instead of the middle of December and deer season. Last season it was frigid and lots of snow

Zero tonight

A year ago tonight we got 15 inches of snow in Rochester. Tonight? 55 degrees at sunset.

Finished my season last night and was 60+ degrees when I got into the tree. Surprisingly, saw 6 moving towards day's end including 2 nice bucks which I could have very easily dropped. Fortunately for them it was exactly 4:31PM, two minutes after legal.

Pretty piss poor couple days for me, I couldn't fill a doe tag to save my azz.

45 minutes left then I'm done with rifle.

Hunted till 9 am and pulled the plug.I counted over 50 days I hunted this season,including everyday of gun except the opener(when I could have killed a nice buck)
I can't say it was all bad as I killed a great buck and 3 doe with the bow and a doe with the gun but this is the worst gun season I can recall for many many years.

That said I just loaded the muzzleloader and will likely slip out a couple more times

Exactly what I'm thinking for tomorrow. I'll see how I feel later.

I'm targeting end of the week when temps drop and lake effect snow comes in

Both Friday and Saturday it was over 70 degrees here. The deer just ain't moving. All year, my spot has been totally void of does. Earlier in bow season, I had a yote hanging around, but couldn't get a shot. I'm convinced the does aren't there because of it. Saturday morning it came through running full tilt, carrying the mail. I tried to stop it, but he probably didn't even hear me. I took it out at 50 yards, quartering away. Lucky shot. I guess I didn't get him good enough because it got up and slipped into the cedar thicket. Tried to track it, but lost the blood trail. I had a lot of good blood and hair though. I might not have led it far enough and probably got gut.

This weekend is the start of ML season. Hopefully with the cooler temps and "dog gone", maybe the deer will start moving. The only problem is that where there's one yote, there's probably more.

Our rut is about over. So far I have seen a couple of good, but young 8 points, and a young 10 pt, and let all of them walk. I may sneak out this weekend and try to hammer the pigs that are hanging around the protein feeder. There's one big sow that would make a pile of good eating.

Dan, does your wife help you eat all that venison? You are getting more deer in crowded eastern conditions than anyone I know! But you are putting in your time...

OK its been 2 whole days not hunting,withdrawal has set in I'm slipping out this afternoon

The itch has been scratched!

Just checked my camera cards glad to see the buck that eluded me on this property made it through gun season

Sad day for me just found out the bordering land owner killed this deer must have been Sunday after I stopped and talked to him.They didn't see him nor even know he was around. It was the last day of the gun season he had a 1/2 day to make it.Kind of sick to my stomach
