Your present bullet capability is ~60 grains and ~120 grains. A .30-06 would add ~180 grains and power enough for any North American big game. Resulting progression: 60/120/180.

Get a 708 in a Tikka or go 280 in a semi custom. You can always simplify and get an '06 in any rifle you choose.
