This is how you make them long action friendly. EGW base and low rings. I replaced this scope with a 2-7 vx-R and never looked back. The VX-R is a much better scope imo.

Yeah, and at last year's prices of $450-$479, I would have got one myself. As I was torn between it and the VX-3 2.5-8. They went up to $500+ anywhere I looked, and my choice of the FIredot-4 is now only available in a 10th Mil adjustment version. So I passed, and saved $100 in the process.

Bringing this thread back to life.

I call these 2 the step brothers. A Winchester Model 70 Extreme Weather in 7mm-08 and a Remington 700 LVSF also in 7mm-08 in an original Ti SAUM stock.

Obviously both are wearing Leupold 2.5-8 VX3s and both live in Talley LWs.

Sako Finnwolf. There are still uses for the older gloss scopes...

My little 7mm BB wore one for a while -- long enough to eliminate a few hogs.

I've got four of these scopes, but there is nothing special about the rifles so I won't bore you with pics. I might go crazy and try a 3.5-10 for more top end next time.

Mauser Action 300 Weatherby circa 1957. The 2.5X8X36 is my favorite Leupold scope. I have three of them...

Winchester Custom Shop 338. They both sport B&C reticles...
