Well I was off work all last week hunting and I'm sorry, I passed up about 15 buttons, spikes, and 4 pointers. I just can't bring myself to shooting them. It's just too much work for such little meat. But if they keep hanging around, I might just have to enter this contest for real. I know, I'm depressed that I can't shoot a dink that's a contender. But I'll tell you what....those little bastrds keep hanging around, I might have to bust a cap in their azz. The other day, I had a couple walk under me right at dark. At first, I thought it was a doe and a Bambie. I had the .480 out and cocked and noticed that they were buttons, so I let them walk. They keep it up and they'll be talking to the business end of either that .480 or my Encore.

Well if they have horns, I'm TRYING to comply and the buttons are pretty small. I might have to keep a hammer in the truck and after I take the picture, I'll bust'em off, check it as antlerless and donate it so I don't have to cut it up. The problem is that they want animals over 60#.

(grin) They blend in well with the deciduous leaf litter. Had to shoot with my non dominant hand-eye, but at 75 yards, I was able to put it right through the heart and break both shoulders. 150gr Ballistic Silvertips from a 30-06 at that range is overkill maybe....but dead is dead!
