I need some help. Ever since I traded my range gun away, p210, it feels like the is a huge hole in my safe. I am looking to replace it so I can feel whole again. I don't necessarily need to find another P210, but I'd like to stay with a 9mm for recoil and cheap ammo.
What options should I look at? For the sake of this thread, let's say no budget but availible either new or on gunbroker.

...with a past preference for something as unusual and excellent as the P 210, and if you would still be using the piece as essentially a range gun as you did with the P 210, why not look at an early Benelli B-76?? and the Steyr GB is also a great rig...
if something for all-purpose use, you can't go wrong with an HK P7, a Sig p226, an HK USP, or a Glock 19, and, and, and....

Well,...since money is no object, I'd say to spend a whole $299 on a Kahr CT9. http://www.gunblast.com/Kahr-CT9-CT45.htm

West German made Sig P226. Mine has a single action trigger as nice as my 1911. The original version carbon steel slide has much better balance than the current model stainless slide. Accuracy is excellent.

High end is better than most people know. Funny you should mention a Benelli B-76, few people would even know what that is. I just sold a Benelli B-80 like new in the box and it also had a 9mm barrel with it. The Steyr is certainly a good shooting gun as it, like the P-7 and the Benelli has a fixed barrel and that makes for the best accuracy in these guns. I had one, it shot great, but the reliability of them was less than stellar. That leaves the P-7 which still remains one of the most misunderstood handguns of all time, but I would still put it on the top of the list for high end 9mm... Benelli... P-7 Squeeze cocker...

Trading that off was a poor decision, I'd go get another one before they cost more than a car.

Kirk,
as you and I know (and NDC too), the HK P7 is at the absolute pinnacle, and few can truly appreciate it--for a number of reasons...
the B-76 was an engineering marvel, and extremely accurate. i mention it because it was rather unusual, and a single stack rig to boot.

I love my Wilson Combat KZ45. One day, I'd like to find its twin in a KZ9. Wilson Combat quality in a double-stack that should be around $1000.

No need to get too exotic; for a good range 9mm, it's hard to beat the Beretta 92 in some iteration........they are generally pretty accurate out of the box with a decent sight radius, soft shooting & the various military armorers have been able to make them better than 1911's for match shooting if you want to get it tuned up a bit, & there are lots of accessories available.
Only negative caveat would be if you have small hands as it's a fair sized piece.
And the acquisition cost won't break the bank.

I like the idea of the benelli.
I've have/had a couple p7m8's, p226, p229, various glocks, and smith and wesson m&p's.
I have been lusting for a Nighthawk AAC, or Les Baer 1911. I'd like to handle a X5 though.

I've got an HK USP Expert that I really like. Great trigger, long sight radius, excellent sights. Mine has the jet funnel set up that makes it a 19 shooter with one in the chamber.

I have a H&K P7M8 that I consider to be the best of the best 9mm's.

I really like my P7M8, and I carried it everytime I rode my bike. Its one of the only guns that I found which I can carry, draw, and fire 100% safe while wearing heavy leather gloves. At one point I had a couple of them, but they don't quite fit the place I and looking to fill.

One 9mm that has caught my eye on the lower end of the high end shooters is the Walther PPQ M2. I shot a buddies and was very impressed with the trigger quality and accuracy out of the box.
I've noticed that a lot of the competition shooters are shooting CZ75 framesd with some custom goodies. It might be fun, if you are so inclined, to build up a shooter based on that frame.
