The Early Ruger No1's were SN from 1 to 8437 the highest SN produced which was a 458 Mag. Then the 130 Prefix started in 1968 due to the 68 Gun Control Law. The total No1's shipped at end of 1970 was 7918 that is the figure I use to calculate the Rarity of all the non-prefix rifles. I have been able to compile a Data List for 2279 of the non-prefix rifle with all details including the ship date until 2012 when the factory started charging for the info. If you would like to contribute your info on your Ruger No1 and to get any info I have about the early rifles send me your info to my private email with Ruger No1 in the subject line and I will try to answer your requests as soon as possible.

I had 5375 (or 5735? Got a Kodachrome of it somewhere) briefly. My brother bought it new. 22" 7mm Remmag, AH, no sights, really nice walnut in the butt, kinda plain forend.
Sold it to a guy that worked the gun counter of the Wheaton, MD Atlas store. Nice gun, but as Old Jack would say, the muzzle blast would really lay the daisies low. Of course I wish I still had it, along with a pile of other stuff.

Thanks Pappy It must have been 5735 as I already had 5375 on Data as a BBT 22-250. That made the AH 7 Mags at 30 known & 114 Projected.

Sorry this is late Valsdad...haven't logged in for a while.
I'm lucky...with my loads, this rifle will do an inch or better with 150's, 165's and 180's. I've only played with 190s and 200 grain bullets once, but getting 1 1/4" groups was no biggie. I'm sure if I played some more with those I could break an inch with them as well.
In the end, I settled with 165gr bullets. Hornady, Nosler, Speer, it really doesn't matter - same recipe, same results. For this hunt, I decided to do that Kaibab "no lead" thing. The G&F gave me a free box of components, and if I can save a condor, I figured why not. I used the 165gr TSX. Sorry for being even later with a thank you! I forgot about this thread, Geno
