Imagine that...a 'Bic' rifle with issues.... What happens when you build a POS to a cheap price point. You get junk.
The 280 Remington is overbore.
The 7 Rem Mag is over bore.

"NOT a problem with enclosed triggers", I was told... Huh - WHO'DA thunk it?? Ok, ok - I won't say, "I TOLD YA SO".... Is this the MOA trigger or something else. I know the safety is different and it appears the problem is just as likely to be related to the safety as the trigger. A little early to condem the MOA trigger. FWIW, I too prefer the old style trigger and would have preferred that FN had retained it on the newest rifles. But to date I've seen no reason to dislike the new trigger. Lots of companies use enclosed triggers. Remingtons problems are because it is a poorly designed trigger, not that it is enclosed.

If it were the MOA triggers they would be recalling a whole lot more product than just the XPR rifles. Pretty quick condemnation of the MOA trigger, which is new and probably just as good. Don't like the MOA....buy pre 64.....problem solved.

I doubt it has anything to with the MOA trigger in the Model 70 rifles. Carry on.

Is the trigger on the XPR rifles the same as on the model 70? The recall only addresses the XPR.

It's not the MOA trigger. Sez you.. From the Winchester web site's description of the XPR: "How do you obtain a light, crisp, clean trigger pull? A trigger that will make all the difference in how accurately you can shoot? We believe this is found in the new XPRs advanced M.O.A. Trigger System. The trigger is the heart of every rifle. And the XPR has a lot of heart. Below is an outline of what sets the new XPR apart, point by point. If you are considering a new rifle, take the time to know this rifle inside and out. Steve Gash did a puff piece on the XPR in Shooting Times. The cover says 1/2 MOA for $550. I'm not impressed, especially when you can get real rifles like Hawkeyes and Howas for from $329 to $500 on the web. The RAR looks to be finished better and the mag fits flush. Also available in SS. Better luck next time, FN.
What fresh Hell is this?

Advertising sometimes says things that it doesn't deliver in reality in the total package
It's official. I missed the selfie deadline so I'm Maser's sock puppet because rene and the Polish half of the fubar twins have decided that I am.

On the Winchester site.............
In our continual product testing, we have learned of an issue that is important to the safety of all XPR owners. It has come to our attention that a manipulation of the safety switch may cause movement in the trigger system that could result in unintended firing of certain XPR rifles.
WARNING: Do not load or shoot any XPR rifle until it has been returned to our service center and received a retrofit. Failure to follow this warning may result in a risk of harm, including serious personal injury or death to you and others.
In order to exercise an abundance of caution on behalf of all XPR owners, we have decided to replace certain trigger group parts at no charge. This will require that all XPR rifles are sent to our service facility for a retrofit. We respectfully require all owners to return their rifles for the retrofit.

I have never viewed the MOA trigger as an improvement for a hunting rifle.

Stay tuned... I have never viewed the MOA trigger as an improvement for a hunting rifle. Very few others have either..
