And why we let our happiness be determined by such things as sporting events, over which we have no control whatsoever and "ownership" of a team to the same degree, continues to be a mystery.

I feel terrible about the fudge-packers loss.

Some of actually ARE owners, 5sdad.
Still, it doesn't control my life or determine my happiness. It's just a diversion, much like making disparaging, carping remarks on the internet is for some people.

I knew when they lost Cobb it was probably about over, and it was. Still, they did better than most people expected. ... and Cobb's injury was only the latest in a long string of injuries this year that crippled the Packers throughout the second half of the season and the playoffs. Their record when they were healthy, up to Week 6 of the regular season, showed what they could do if they remained healthy. The work done by the backup-backup receivers last night was pretty damn good. Unfortunately, they haven't worked with Rodgers enough for them to know the reads like Nelson & Cobb do, so there were a lot of "airball" passes that looked like Rodgers making a bad throw when in fact the receiver simply didn't know he was supposed to be going where the ball was thrown. Regardless, it was a great game. I felt sorry for my daughter and son-in-law, who watched it with me in their home in Green Bay. They live and breathe Packer football, it was a heartbreaker for them. Oh, well. They'll learn. I've been a Cowboys, Packers, and Notre Dame fan since the 60's. After a while you get used to watching your team go down in flames. Good points Doc. I thought I felt a disturbance in the force.

If there was a movie made about a football game, and it played out like that one, people would criticize it as being totally unrealistic in that no game would ever be like that. LOL. You're right!!

I can see "ownership" is lost on you and some of us find happiness in being a stock holder in the Packers, no matter what the season results are. Can a sports team break your heart? Metaphorically, yes.

I saw a meme that I got a chuckle out of and posted it. That's all there is to it. No harm intended. There just aren't any Packer fans in my house.

I saw a meme that I got a chuckle out of and posted it. That's all there is to it. No harm intended. But it was complexly inappropriate, in fact false. Aaron played one hell of a game, with what he had to deal with. Carson's numbers did look better for last night, despite the fact he damn near had 5 picks.
