Read up on Col. John Patterson's lion hunting before he encountered the man-eaters of the Tsavo. In his book, he does a lot of hunting before that. He possibly created more man-eaters than he cured. He used a 303 for his lion hunting and he repeatedly says that he shot some that got away.

ya know, in today's world....where everyone wants the latest and greatest, or even think if it doesn't say magnum, it can't kill schitt....

two rounds that are more than enough and often overlooked are the old tried and trued 303s and the 30/40 Krag...

this side the border, I sure wish I could stumble across an old P14 that was never altered....I favor the P14 and P 17s over the other Enfields....

I also wish they were chambered, even if special runs by the majors....of course I guess a gunsmith could accomplish that for us all...
