What are the magazine constraints for long action standard cartridges for a Tikka?

I'm able to reload SAAMI length (3.34") 30-06 and stuff them down a Tikka mag...with hardly any daylight left.

I can load my .300 win mag to a maximum of 3.34 with pointy bullets. (Barnes tsx , Nosler partition. 3.32 max with round nose ,soft with lots of lead exposed ( Rem. 220 gr. ) to feed properly. Hope that helps.

My 7mm Rem Mag tops out at 3.365", I use the same mag for my .30-06.

I've had four T3 LA mags. All were 3.34.
All of the rifles had long throats so jamming the lands wasn't happening anyway.

I imagine you can make them longer, but it's a royal pain in the ass....

You can make the short ones longer but the Mag mags are limiting.

Had to dig up some 30-06 notes. Looks like I had the box at 3.373, Scenars kissing lands at 3.369, 130 TTSX at 3.380, and 168 E-Tips at 3.340. Maybe a little nip and tuck would do it. Barnes I don't even bother with anymore. I load them all with the front of the first driving band at the case mouth. That's where they stay. Contrary to popular belief and proven with 260, 270, 30-06, 6x45, 270 WSM, 338 WM, 375 H&H, and 7 Mag.
