I know this thread is old but I am working up a load for my 375 H&H. It is a Weatherby Mark V. I am shooting 250 grain Barnes TTSX with RL-15 powder I can't seem to get less than a 2" group at 100 yards. What is your maximum overall case length for the rounds you are shooting?

I am still trying to find "the load" for my 375 R. Started with R17 and the 250-gr TTSX and worked up to 82-gr getting 2900 fps out of my Ruger's 23" barrel. Not an H&H though and started with the Alliant powder 'cause I have a lot of it and use it in three cartridges now. Have only shot a couple of groups so far but am getting little triangles of just over an inch.
May give you a reference point since these cases are so close in capacity.
George, my loads for the 375R are: Big Game powder behind the Barnes TSX 270 gr., 2800 fps MV, and H414 behind the Barnes 250 gr. TTSX, 2880 fps MV. Both are sub-MOA loads. I started off shooting factory Hornady ammo through this rifle, getting patterns, not groups. Not every rifle shoots everything well, and it is a satisfying relief to find loads that work!

I hear more endorsements for the 270 TSX than the 250 TTSX.
I have both and will start working up loads before long.
Theoretically, the 250 seems to have some advantages.
What's the story.

Even though I have gotten excellent accuracy results and performance on larger game, like Asian Water Buffalo and Nilgai, with the 270 gr. TSX, I decided to try the 250 gr. TTSX, because of decent BC, higher velocity, flatter trajectory, maybe slightly less recoil, and possible quicker expansion due to the tip. Accuracy turned out to be the equal of what I have gotten with the TSX.
On African game, ranging from Sable down to Springbok, performance with the TTSX was excellent.
I would say that either bullet is an excellent choice in .375, of any flavor, but would choose one over the other based upon accuracy in my rifle. I would probably choose the 270 gr. TSX if I were hunting Cape Buffalo.

I had accuracy problems with the 250TTSX. Went through about 40 bullets without finding any load that did better than about 1 1/2 MOA with a rifle that puts everything else into less than MOA. Yeah I know 1.5 MOA is acceptable but they ought to do better. Still have another box and a half of bullets so maybe I'll play with it some more when I get low on loaded ammo or have a hunt I want to use them on.
I am continually astounded at how quickly people make up their minds on little evidence or none at all.

While 1 1/2" is "OK" for hunting, it's not OK for a genuine Loony...
You'll lie awake at night, figuring how to better that group...
