I'm drawn to sheds like iron to a magnet, just can't walk past them. I also have all 40 or 50 sets of antlers from all the bucks and bulls of various species I've killed over the year. We hunt a migration route in CO and they must come back through about the time they are dropping because we have found literally pickup loads over the years. Can't remember ever doing anything with them other than putting them in my uncle's attic as he's as crazy about them as I am. Hell I once took the lace out of my right boot so I could tie a matched pair of elk sheds together to sling over my shoulder, I must have carried them over a mile back to the wheeler with one boot flopping. And carried a huge moose shed several miles in mu bird vest while grouse hunting, damn thing must weigh 35 pounds.

Wayne, not a bad idea - looks good. My wife isn't fond of mounts on the main level but she sure likes these as accent pieces. damn, I hate to say it but thats beyond ugly.

Here's what I did with a small moose antler.

I just found a new use for sheds... My new JRT/Chi loves them! I've drilled a bunch of small holes in them before packed in soft dog treats, or just spooned bacon fat into the holes.

No one has mentioned using sheds for "rattling" horns. I have seen some guys do it.

I have had these Red Stag sheds in the garage for about 20 years. One little Fallow Deer shed on top of picture. Thought about trying to sell them but they are just too awkward to wrap and mail. I guess they will continue to collect dust. Tom

Tom -
If you have a shed or a barn, those would look neat attached to a NORTH wall. The sun would not shine on them hard enuff to bleach them for a long time.
I have a whole lot of WT antlers and would like to do that but my barn sits on a NE--SW angle enuff that the sun hits the N wall most of the afternoon.
Just a thot:
Jerry

Maybe its time for all of us with sand issues to start using the ignore button more often.

If it's ok for you fo opine that his creation is ugly , isn't it equally ok for someone to opine that your opinion sucks???

I left my truck one afternoon on an antelope stalk, wife was spotting from the truck. After the 3/4 mile stalk to no avail , I return to the truck carrying two matched pairs of mule deer antlers and 3 antelope sheaths that had been from previous year. The wife asked why I did not get anything.... I laughed and said my hands were full. I save the deer antlers in the garage but the antelope sheathes go in the flower bed . They tend to stink and give the dogs something to play with.......

You're absolutely entitled to your opinion. And, if I were worried about what the world thought, I'd not put it out there. It's just that you seemingly have a safariman-esque perspective on the world in terms of what conforms to your little box (and an insatiable need for expressing it). In viewing your various posts over the years, you simply don't strike me as a very happy individual - rarely, if ever, focusing on anything positive..... Just my opinion of course.

Here's a small lamp I made for my 'man cave' a couple of weeks ago. So far my new pooch hasn't discovered the shed!
