Wow! Roy was 1 year older than me. He was too young to leave. This board will noticeably suffer after loosing Roy. He had a knack for posting just the right thing at just the right time. I genuinely liked him, although we only knew one another through the Campfire. I will definitely pray for Roy and for his grieving family.
It's hard to accept.

Roy was one of the good guys. Like so many others here I never met him personally just through email and private messages. I bought so many knives from him that he finally just started emailing me when he was going to sell one. He really wasn't my wife's favorite person.  You will be missed Roy.

I've conversed with Roy on and off over the past 6 yrs or so. Mostly at Optics Talk. This is just so unexpected. He's going to be missed for sure. To quote RifleDude(Ted)"Damn,this hurts!".

Damn, I truly hate to read that. We came that close to meeting up in Jersey one time but couldn't work it out. Had to be a heart attack.
Damn Spent a lot of time thinking about the above today (who would have believed it.....SH provoking deep thought). I've met/travelled/hunted with some fine folks from the CF. If you'd have said that I'd have driven to NY to pick up a crazy Schenectady cop that I'd never met, then drive to Pulaski, VA to meet up with three other dudes I'd never met to continue driving to TN to kill pigs with a bunch of guys I'd never met......I'd have called you crazy. As much bullchit arguing as we do here, I'd still hunt with most that I disagree with. Again....RIP Roy. I regret that I never made the effort to meet that retired Motor from NJ.

I've only just read this terrible news and I am genuinely shocked. 57 is way too young to go..
Roy always struck me as a really decent person and my thoughts and condolences are with his family and friends at this very sad time...
