I went in to decide to buy a wood or plastic stock Bergera 6.5 Creedmoor, after about 30 minutes I decide on the wood stock & ask for a set of used Remington 700 bases. He comes back with a Jarrette 280AI built on a "B" series M700 action, so I buy the 280 rather than a Bergara at about 1/2 of Kenny's price.

It is 3 years old with about 200 rounds through it, a McMillian BDL stock, Schneider probably #4 barrel and a Jewel trigger. Weight with bases 73/4 pounds. I have owned probably half a dozen Jarrett rifles and they all shoot. I have had several 280AI's but moved them on due to case forming, 50 Nosler Virgin brasses were thrown in the deal. I ordered Redding dies & some Sierra bullets when I got home.

In the last 2 months I have gathered parts to have Accurate Ordinance build 4 new rifles but it's just hard to justify building when used is so reasonable priced.

I'll buy a new camera next week & post pictures.

With the money you saved. Nice score.

Love my Jarrett 280AI as well. I had one of his early ones...about 25 years old, which was stolen 3 years ago. I felt as if I'd lost my right hand. The rifle had mojo that I've never seen in any other rifle...it literally never missed a single deer out of the hundreds it took.

I replaced it with his new model, the tri lock, and it's doing just fine as well, but I'd swap even up with anyone who located my old sweetheart if a rifle.

It wasn't left handed was it?
