I have a baboon mounted with a tray in his hand like a butler with an apron to cover his "junk". They are nothing more than a varmint to the people I've hunted with in Zim. In fact, my first trip in 2001 they started at $100 trophy fee and by about the third day were $10. After that my PH was borrowing my rifle to shoot them and they became shoot on-site for free.

I would love to take my .22-250 over there and sit on the railroad tracks next to the sugar cane fields at sunrise and sunset! You could stack them up like cordwood!

Know fat, know flavor. No fat, no flavor.

I tried going vegan, but then realized it was a big missed steak.

I once wandered into Jonas Bros Taxidermy in Denver, and saw a bunch (maybe a dozen or more) baboons that had been outfitted with clothes and were arranged sitting in school desks.

I wonder just what that had cost the shooter/owner?

Why should/would you GAF how someone chose to spend THEIR money?

Didn't say I cared how they chose to spend their money, I just wondered what it had cost. BIG DIFFERNCE. Is English your second language?

Dropped by Jonas Bros Taxidermy of Denver yesterday to pick up some shipping tags.

Their new location, just north of the Denver Jail on Havana, is certainly not as nice as the old one in Louisville, but there was still some nice trophies on display.

There was a pair of elephant tusks that looked to be about 6' long. They must have weighed over 100 lbs each. I didn't get a chance to examine them too closely, so it is possible they were fiberglass replicas. Very eye-catching in any event.

What really got my attention, was a set of buffalo horns that were mounted on a metal buffalo skull. The horns had to be close to 46 inches or more and had a boss that was close to 20 inches. One heck of a nice bull. I would love to kill something that nice.

Cheers,
