1) by maintaining a conviction at all times that God is ever-present and gives all things their most important meaning. He is the Creator, Sustainer, and Governor of all things. We must keep in our minds the truth that all things exist to reveal something of God’s infinite perfections. The full meaning of everything, from shoestrings to space shuttles, is the way they relate to God.
The above statement I do not agree with at all! There are some things that God has no part of. The evil and vile things of this world are not sustained nor governed by God.
As Christians we are to love all people but that does not mean that we do so to the point of condoning evil, even the evil that they cannot see.Our job is to provide a better way and be the example of that way. We are not to force and coerce, but to lead and guide. We cannot turn anger and despite on those who will not be lead to truth but neither can we ignore that they are on a path to destruction.

Christians permit non-believers, and those of different faiths because they no longer have the power to do otherwise. We should never forget how Christianity acted when it did have the power. When power was used against non-Christians those wielding said power were not true Christians. That is the same argument the Muslim apologists use when they claim suicide bombers are not true followers of Islam. Its also the same argument that atheists make about the era when THEY had absolute power and murdered scads of religious people in Soviet Russia, Red China, and Vietnam. They weren't "true atheists" but were mean old communists. "True Atheists" would never do such a thing. I am sure one will be along to make that argument momentarily but they own it BIG TIME. See how this works?

That opinion seems very limited in scope, rooted in some selected socio/politcal history and strongly jaded to the negative. Is there any possibilty that you are hampered by inability to recognize, or comprehend, the premises and behaviors exemplified in the cited article? Why do so many so called "christians" automatically assume anyone who disagrees with something they say must be mentally inferior? Maybe we just don't buy the BS You reach way too far - I expressed no "assumption" about mental inferiority of so-called atheists (doesn't rule that out in your case). The comment states what is observed of AS' post and asks a question. Intelligent folks realize that factors other than mental inferiority often cause otherwise capable people to overlook, refuse to grasp and even reject rational statements and positions, particlarly those expressed by those against whom they wish to fight. Try reading that posted statement again - you may see something positive.

An atheist has no responsibility to defend the actions of other atheists or to disavow them because of those actions.

Jeff_O, "Making room" is a funny way to put it. Provocative.
When they say, "This is why we resist the coercive secularization implied in some laws that repress Christian activity in public places".... what laws are they referencing? You missed the florists and bakers fiascos? The judges make them up at the time of use.

There are no atheist's in fox holes.... from http://www.conservapedia.comThere Are No Atheists In Foxholes Reverend William T. Cummings is famous for declaring There are no atheists in foxholes.[1] Reverend William T. Cummings, who served at Bataan, is famous for declaring "There are no atheists in foxholes."[1] In addition, Lieutenant Colonel Warren J. Clear, who also served at Bataan, used the expression in an interview printed in U.S. newspapers in the middle of April.[1] Chaplain F.W. Lawson of the 302d Machine Gun Battalion, who was wounded twice in wartime, declared "I doubt if there is such a thing as an atheist. At least there isn't in a front line trench."[1] Hannah More wrote: "In agony or danger, no nature is atheist. The mind that knows not what to fly to, flies to God."[2] In recent years the organization Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers has taken up use of the slogan "Atheists in Foxholes" as a list of those men and women who serve the country while lacking a belief in a god.[3] President Dwight D. Eisenhower declared in remarks broadcast from the White House as part of a February 7, 1954 American Legion Program: “ As a former soldier, I am delighted that our veterans are sponsoring a movement to increase our awareness of God in our daily lives. In battle, they learned a great truth-that there are no atheists in the foxholes. They know that in time of test and trial, we instinctively turn to God for new courage…Whatever our individual church, whatever our personal creed, our common faith in God is a common bond among us.[4]
James Pepper: There's no law west of Dodge and no God west of the Pecos. Right, Mr. Chisum? John Chisum: Wrong, Mr. Pepper. Because no matter where people go, sooner or later there's the law. And sooner or later they find God's already been there.

There are no athiests in Hades, either...
Even the demons believe and tremble...
So, how dumb to claim to be an atheist or an agnostic...
To be deceived is to not know that you don't know. If one doesn't know and seeks to know, he may find.
But, the deceived don't seek because they're unaware of their ignorance and lack...

Christians permit non-believers, and those of different faiths because they no longer have the power to do otherwise. We should never forget how Christianity acted when it did have the power. Totally incorrect. Christianity was misused and suppressed for well over 1,000 years by a "church" that catered to the aristocracy and prohibited dissemination of knowledge, and particularly the Bible, to the masses by pain of death And those deaths were horribly painful by design, indeed. The departure of Luther from that church during the Renaissance began the Reformation, but there was still hatred, murder and mayhem, as accompanies the birth pains of freedom always when conducted by men. It was not until the Age of Enlightenment that the proper and correct perspective of Christianity was established and a wresting of control and power from the once all-powerful unholy alliance of the Catholic church and medieval states that bore no resemblance to true Christianity. The benefits and effects of such Christianity have been undeniable, but short lived and tenuous, as the State once more rises up, this time without the support of any apostate church, but with the more hellish support of atheistic secular humanism. Christianity is not your enemy, but you are the enemy of Christianity, as you have proven consistently.
We may know the time Ben Carson lied, but does anyone know the time Hillary Clinton told the truth?
Immersing oneself in progressive lieberalism is no different than bathing in the sewage of Hell.

He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together." Hebrews 1:2-3"His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power." Amos 3:6"If a trumpet is blown in a city will not the people tremble? If a calamity occurs in a city has not the Lord done it?"

DF And if someone seeks and finds different than you, then what? Are they automatically wrong because they found something different than you? I'm not agnostic or an atheist, but I do understand their point of view, many of the various religious stories sound pretty ridiculous to someone who wasn't raised with it.

justin10mm, Atheism is not a religion or an organized set of beliefs. It is simply the lack of belief. An atheist has no responsibility to defend the actions of other atheists or to disavow them because of those actions. Ah, contraire. The Supreme Court of the United States determined it is a religion because a case made it all the way to them. The atheist won that case and atheism was declared a religion. Therefore they are a protected group.

DF Beautifully done DF, and I could not agree more. Some day we'll see who's right, won't we? The word of God is foolishness to fools.
It is irrelevant what you think. What matters is the TRUTH.

It's easy to understand that it's very difficult to surrender ones life to a God that one has never seen. It's easy to understand that it's very difficult to surrender ones life to a God who speaks to ones heart...who speaks through ancient literature...and who speaks through ones conscience. And it's easy to understand that it's very difficult ,basically, to write a blank check of ones whole life to a God one has never seen.
Even some of Jesus' own followers...those who were with Him while He was here on earth...did not fully believe until 'after' the resurrection.
Every day on this side of the ground is a win.

justin10mm, Atheism is a religion in the same way abstinence is a sex position. I read in order to qualify as a religion its proponents must believe in a beginning, how the belief effects their life and an eschatology. Atheists have to believe everything came from nothing since there is something. Based on that they can make up their own morals and live by those morals. They believe in the ultimate heat death of the universe when all available energy is converted to total entropy. Abstinence does not qualify.
