Dang hate to see that.

Did the same thing myself for a year and a half. One day out of the blue decided to check back in with the Savage Collectors and walked right into a thread like this. FatJack was asking where guys had gone off to.

He's been gone a good while now too.

Damn. Northern Dave's humor was a shining light on the forum.

I miss Dober and a bunch of others that just don't post anymore.

My heart still saddens anytime I see Mickey or Ken Howell mentioned.

Sure do miss a lot of the folks that have passed away.

The ones that just left, I often wonder what makes one leave a forum? I just mostly ignore posts that bother me.. or play with em if I Have time...

All in all, I have not found a better forum, although one could exist that I"m not aware of.

Go down to Misc and look up the Long Dong thread. You may get your answer.

I miss Brian Mayes (aka wheelchairbandit). He and I used to correspond by private email and phone texts all the time about the UFC fights, playing guitar and just general life stuff. I just deleted about 100 email threads that we had from the last couple years.

Text him back and tell him I didn't mean it when I said he didn't have sexy legs.

They really thought they were clever and funny--they were half right. smile Ken came to one of the get-togethers in Olympia and brought his wife. I still remember her introducing herself as "Mrs. Bulletbutt." Ha!

I only met Bullwnkl a few times. I will say this about the man: Anything he claimed to know about, he knew about. Jim was a wealth of knowledge. He kind of reminded me of Okanagan (who is also still alive as of last week). Okanagan is another who has quietly accumulated more "been there, done that" than he ever lets on. But if you can get him talking, listen and take notes. That's how Jim was.

Anyway, it's a bummer to lose good people...

Been avoiding this thread for the sadness it brings me...

I took the passing of Ken Maples hard....I had had lunch with him a couple of weeks before his passing for the second or third time on one of my business trips up to Seattle...

Way too young, and a damned good man...
