They can take my guns away and I will continue to hunt. I have killed more game than some here on the Campfire with a solid grill guard...

Not gonna be taking many bears or elk with this one, but Granddads Uncles old Marlin M94 25-20 is a great companion on a small game hunt. Shooting cast bullets from one of 3 different molds, it does a good job.

Since getting this rifle its been pretty lucky for me - at least when it comes to antelope. I suck at pretty much any other hunting but have fun chasing lopes with my Kampfeld .243.

Leadminer, I duuno. Which costs more, a grill guard or a new grill and hood? At the time the grill and hood (painted) were running $1200 at the local Ford dealer. I dunno squat about grill guard costs (installed).

Is that what they mean by a 'grilled' turkey?

I reckon. I woulda thought folks out that way would be used to seein' such things, but apparently not. Got a lot of funny looks drivin' along like that. Once we got into Nebraska they treated me like one of their brothers.

Ya just never know about people until you drop in, hey?

Plain Jane. M700 -06 in a custom syn stock. She weighed 7lb 2oz with the scope back in the mid 80's when she was young. Gained a little weight since then because of all of the layers of paint.

The 250-3000 has always been my favorite cartridge since I started hunting big game. First rifle was a Savage 99 EG and the last few years my favorite rifle is a Savage 99 A.

I purchased the rifle from the widow of the original owner who had Charlie Counoyer of South Milwaukee, WI checker it. The sale included the original gun shop purchase receipt, hang tag and manual.

Couple up close snap shots.

First whitetail I shot with it.

Last whitetail shot and had mounted.

The 250 Savage works on bear too. grin

This .450 Marlin has always been a favorite of mine, though it really hasn't killed too much. This Montana Shiras bull and a doe whitetail. Its been carried a lot in a scabbard, over a lot of rough miles though. It just hasn't been with me when the shot opportunities present themselves very much.
