I've been contemplating this for some time. And I'm sure that each persons possibles or survival kit will differ by terrain and which part of the world you live in. Time of year makes a difference too.

I usually don't get too far back into the bush.

In my truck, I always have TP, lighters, 55gal drum liners, furniture blankets. First aid kits, including my daily meds (usually at least an extra 3 day supply). An ax, shovel, extra ammo, a case of bottled water. A camp stove and fuel. A ham radio, a GPS, compass, food, etc, etc, etc...

I need to get this down to a manageable size for a day pack. Currently I have a Badlands 2200.

I do have micro stoves, but the fuel cylinders are not so tiny. I usually carry some sort of tea bags. As was stated by a few others, a warm belly can do wonders.

So, if you were to have to start from scratch, what would you include in your possibles bag, or survival kit? and why?

That was my pre-coffee brain. I realized on the way to work that it was likely one of those little devices that tosses some talc in the air to check wind.

Still could be wrong as I'm now post beer. grin

As someone said earlier, puffer or puffy is slang for down jacket.
