I have been seeing Acme coated lead bullets in 500 packs for about $39 . They are made about 25 mi. from me so it seems every gun shop has them in the area. I want to use them in My Ruger SR9E . Has anyone else used these bullets? How did they work. I can get 3000 rounds for $175 but sure would like to hear from other users first.

Acme bullets are good bullets and the coating is top notch, it eliminates leading issues and keeps guns running 1000 times cleaner. I mostly shoot coated bullets in my guns.

I've made some commentary in the past regarding loading 9mm, and I use bullets sized to .357 for better accuracy. I also prefer the 147gr flat point bullet design as it is more accurate than the round nose designs, for me.

So ACME doesn't offer .357 diameter as a standard option, but you might call them and see if they will make them for you in that size if you want that.

The 147 FP shoots ok in .356 but is tighter in some of my pistols in .357. Coated bullets are available from several good suppliers at the same or lower prices, like Bayou Bullets and ibejiheads, and those two suppliers offer a choice of diameter as an option.

The case pricing is the way to go, but I would try whatever design you want in a small quantity first before ordering a full case.

If you drop by they might give you a handful to try out. Aren't you LE? If so they might give you an LE Discount.

What would be a good load for the Acme 124gr.? Can I use jacketed loads or stay with lead loads? I will look for load data , and I am not an LE.

I just received some .38 wadcutters and shot 50 of
them and am happy. The coating makes loading very easy.

Many powders will work well in the 9mm. Coated bullets are close to standard cast bullets so use the cast bullet data to find the loading range for powders you might have available and you should be able to work up loads that will shoot well in your pistol.

Yeah, but they don't seem to work too well for him. Seems like he gets a lot of practice too...

I tried 115's , 124's and 147's . I think I like the 147's the best, but not sure why. They dont seem to snap as much. I have Unique and Power pistol. Any favorites with cast bullets in 147's? I will give them a try. I think I might be a bit light at 4 gr. Unique though.
