I grow all my tomatoes in 5 gallon buckets with aged cow or sheep manure from the corral. It seems to work pretty well.

FG

17,

but they must be in the correct ratio of cows/sheep.

but you have to answer the secret question before anyone here will tell you that ratio. grin

OH, how's the tomato and other plants doing after you settled on that fertilizer from Bi-Mart( right?).

Been warm enough at night yours should be setting fruit already, at least mine are down here coupla hundred feet in elev. below you.

Good luck with them.

Geno

PS, yeah, I'm a bit of a wise a-s at times.

PPS, no lime, go with lemon... shhhhh, we don't want them all to know the trick

I don't know if it's all the rain we've had or the fertilizer but they're doing good Geno.....I've got fruit on two of the Tomato plants and the Poblano's are loaded...Bell Peppers are just now starting to get their act together...
It's been about three weeks since I first fed em so I'll give em another dose here in a day or two.
Looks like we have some hot weather on the way so that should help too...

You better get out and enjoy this nice weather....before ya know it winter'll be knocking at the door again....

Well, it's gardening day today. Then I get back on a boat for work tomorrow at 0800.

I'll be planting a bit more, and using my favorite fertilizer, the fish juice, compost, and manure.

Dang work always gets in the way of "enjoying this nice weather". I gotta retire someday!

Geno

Just don't use fresh manure on tomato plants.

You'll get awesome looking foliage and very little fruit. BTDT. Once!

Back in the last century when I had Horses and Chickens I had a neighbor that was a gardening fool....he'd bring his tractor over once in a while and grab a scoop of horse manure but he said it really wasn't near as good for gardens as cow manure.....he'd take all the chicken poop he could get his hands on though....

He really knew his chit when it came to barn yard chit.....

If a guy who knows his motors and machinery is a "gear head" or "motorhead"

and a person who knows their marijuana is a "pothead"

then what you're saying is your neighbor was a ..........

"chit head"?

I'm glad I'm not your close by neighbor grin

Geno

PS, I couldn't help myself either!
