i have some 170-180 grain weight lead pills made, and some 265gr lead ones two. I did manage to find a couple of loads for the 265, and am estimating on the lighter ones, but curious if anyone has loaded these two grain weights before and what did they use. That is, other than H110.

Ron, I am liking Titegroup for plinking loads with the 165's and 175's.
I have been using Universal in this application for several years, but it became impossible to find. Titegroup has been available, burns very cleanly, and produces consistent results.
HS-6 has also worked well in noderate loads using bullets from 165 to 210 gr.

All loads used Win cases & WLP primers. Ruger Redhawk - 5 1/2" bbl.

running around looking for a couple of powders today, not available, for light loads for a 41magnum. and i got to thinking of the 41express some are loading for. i have 1892 colt double action, in 41colt. Isn't this basically duplicating that load? few years ago at an auction they had a big bag of period ammo, meaning pre 1900. i bought it thinking it would go with that colt double action. thats when i found out there was like three separate diameters on the bullets. the last one evidently was about like the .40 used in 38wcf. anyway looking at the current loads for 41action express they looked kinda close to this old round to me.
