I'm looking for a simple phone to use in US and Canada. All I want it to do is make and receive phone calls. No need or desire for any features beyond that.

I'm on Verizon, great service all over North America for 8 years, then for the past five months has been terrible. Phones don't work at all half the time, even in major US cities, Verizon incessantly changing basic things like how to access voice mail, texts, etc. I've spent hours on phone with customer service, and now they are getting mean and insulting. Weird. Is the company imploding?

Im on verizon too, with a simple "dumb" flip phone. It doesn't work in Canada...

Go to Walmart and get one of their $8.99 pay by the month phones. They work everywhere.

Have you tried them in Canada? Do they cost more to use north of the border? I will ask at Wally World, but am learning that info from phone sales people is often unreliable.
