Not ignoring you gopher, just checking in for the first time in a couple days. I get busy.

I used to go up into Canada a bunch, but it got tougher after 9-11. I'm thinking I don't have the right stuff to get through the border. I don't have my passport.

It would be tricky to talk me into a Canadian fishing trip, It sounds appealing to me but there are a lot of things I'll probably never do that sound even more appealing to me. lol.

Something clever here.

been busy as heck here too, I'd sure like to go, but it would be next year at the earliest that I could break away.

I wasn't thinking about the passports. Heck, I'd have to get one too. Lake of the Woods would make a good trip.

I'd go but it won't be for a week. And it won't be this year. Do we have to fish?

I could do a LOW long weekend, maybe on the ice? (if there is any)

Ice fine by me. Is this sounding possible? Be nice to see a few more join us. Right up in Dave's stomping grounds if we could drag him kicking and screaming away from the shop.

Good question Tom, as that could get in the way of the drinking.....

So who all's interested in a Lake of the Woods ice fishing weekend? I'm thinking Fri. Sat. and Sun. probably in January so the holidays are out of the way.

I'm willing to do the legwork to put together an ice fishing weekend on Lake of the Woods. Just need to know who's interested and if we want a sleeper fishouse or a cabin and day fishing houses. It'd be a good time. Always is when the 'Fire guys get together.

You know, I'd like to go ice fishing up there. I did only once when ND was my guide...you've seen his pic, we caught fish! smile

Ice fishing is fun on the LOW. I may be interested. We usually go about that time and set up the wheel houses and just have fun. we tend to do our long weekends on the east side of the lake. more happening out there to break up the lulls in fishing.

It is a silly fish that is caught twice with the same bait!

I've only been up once through the ice. We went all the way up to The Angle, but that was before you needed passports to get across the border. I think we should plan it of the American side just to eliminate that necessity.

Would there be more interest in sleeper fishhouses, or cabins and day fishing houses?

Does anybody have a particular resort they've gone through in the past that they'd recommend? I'm willing to set it up if we get some solid commitments.

I'm game for either format-overnight on the ice or with the cabins.

Sounds fine to me. I know they've been up there a long time and have a good reputation. If no one objects, once we get a head count, and which type of rental we want, I'll check them out.

It really depends on the price Jeff, but I'd be real interested.

I'll probably bring the boy as well. He'll out fish us anyway.
