For nearly 50 years I had a full head of hair.

Got out of the shower the other evening, after a long, hot summer day, and said "fug it!", took my clippers and started cutting hair off. Now I have a Burr haircut. grin

Sure is nice and easy. And cooler!

Reminded me of Butch Wax when I had a flat top as a young boy. cool

Started wearing a buzz cut when I was in school at TAMU. Saw all those corpsmen running around campus with one and it sure looked a lot cooler in that 100 degree heat & 99 % humidity.

Every year I buy a set of those cheap wallyworld $15 electric clippers and cut my buzz cut every two weeks. Throw them away, and buy a new clipper every year. Figured I've saved several thousands of dollars on haircuts in the last 30 years or so.

Cut my own hair for the past 20 years.

Hell I could do a better job myself, than spending 30 bucks at a hair dressers.

Got a crew cut or a butch every summer growing up. Used the butch wax stick.
Retired in 2011 and three months later buzzed off a full head of hair to a butch.
Cooler, easier to wash and care for, wife tolerates it.

Ah yes, going to a REAL barber shop, with True Adventure magazines, Butch Wax, and (even though you were too young to get a shave with a straight razor), a splash of...

Barber that cut my hair as a kid always had a cigarette hanging from his lips. Always. And he never touched it. Ashes would just fall where they may.

He'd put a little Bay Rum, or Witch Hazel on ya when he was done. smile
