Fed Science Diet for years. Always felt it was worth it.

Now we have 5 dogs here and science diet prices have skyrocketed.

What's a good alternative?

Yep, great choice.
Victor makes great food free of fillers as well.

There is a reason some dogs live long lives. Our wirehaired griffons are almost 13 and 15 y/o respectively, their food is a huge reason why.

How people can throw Purina-type food full of artificially flavored and colored orange, green and red crap at their beloved pet is beyond me.

I personally feed Eukanuba but when working the Canine Program at the college we had a Phd. on hand that worked in the dog food industry for 20 years. He recommended the Costco brand, and we fed it exclusively with no problems.( He was also a Veterinarian..)

Good stuff. We feed our Great Dane and Schnauzers the Lamb and Rice version.

I've heard Costco's food is good....a couple of old field trialers I hunt with swear by it....
I stick with what I know....

Edit....I used to feed Pro Plan but my Cur dog has skin allergies and does better on the Diamond.....

I feed Costco "Natures Domain" salmon and whatever. Good price and treats my dogs better than the Pro Plan I used to feed.

Mini dogs get Hills Science diet and my dad's heeler gets Blue Wilderness.

That stuff is damn near $3/lb, should be just grilling them up pork chops and chicken!

I fed all of my pointers Purina High Pro. It must not have hurt them too bad. Some of the Rebel bred dogs lasted 15 years. I had 8 to 10 dogs. I would buy a 1000 lb at a time. I kept it in an old ice cream box. I got a price break at that amount. Was a lot of dog crap to wash away.

We feed the dog Costo's Nature's Domain. They've got about 5 types and try to buy a different one each time to prevent allergy generation.

So far no issues with our 6 yo lab.

We get the same stuff from Big R. was going to buy the Blue Buffalo stuff and was told about the Diamond. Exact same ingredients at a lower price. Guess it is the lack of advertising.

I think Diamond produces about 75% of the food out there. A lot is just branded different.
