No luck within a 70 mile radius of me. Oh well, guess I did not need one anyway....lol
I may not be smart but I can lift heavy objects
I have a shotgun so I have no need for a 30-06.....

I tried jumping on this. No 45-70 for me. I guess there's not much I'd use it for that a 12ga slinging 1 oz slugs at 1600 fps won't do just as well or better...
Turned on a buddy to the Savage situation, and he ended up picking up a BMag. Sent him a link to MD's thread.

checked a few Walmarts today, and all but one were sold out on their closeouts. I was able to get a very nice looking Marlin bull-barrel 917VRX for 99 dollars. (17HMR) Will give it a test tomorrow. It came with Weaver mounts and two clips: a "4" and a "7". So far, it's looking promising, but tomorrow's accuracy test will tell-all. :-) 25 dollar rebate on those!

Marlin 917 sold out in my area, paid over 200 last year for mine. Did get the Savage 93F 22 mag. but don't like it as good as the Marlin.

Does anyone know why Walmart is having the blow out?

Does anyone know why Walmart is having the blow out? They are moving out their slow sellers to make room for new items in time for the hunting season and Christmas surge. They have already started bringing in the Henry lever guns.

I also noticed my local Walmart is now carrying the Weatherby Select rifles.
