Another "educated idiot" on the loose.

The local school board and town/county commission needs to be informed that thanks to this decision a full on economic boycott of the town, county, and school system is being organized.

Hitting them in the wallet is about the only way I see to get their attention over stupidity like this flag banning.

It would be different if the kids were bringing in Taco Bell flags, but the very symbol of the freedom that allows freedom of speech/expression should be allowed and never questioned. Maybe they don't teach that in civics class anymore.

that would be different. Mexicans are encouraged to celebrate their heritage.

It started with the confederate flag and that slippery slope quickly led to the American flag. WTF would the cops mindlessly follow the unconstitutional order of a high school principal? Can't the cops think for themselves? Why not tell the principal to fu.ck off? We're not here to play your stupid games, we're here to keep the peace b

The flag isn't the problem. The problem is students using the flag in a disrespectful manner. Easy to be critical of someone's decision without all of the facts. But the real problem here is the way the flag was used at the ball games by students. The anger should be directed towards the students. Had they brought the flags to be used in a manner that respected the flag it would be different.

"On Friday, Travelers Rest High School principal Lou Lavely banned students from carrying American flags into a football game against Berega High School, because a lot of students at Berega are Hispanic. Lavely contends the American flag could have been used to taunt those students."

Just because mexicans get offended by our flag doesn't mean that the display of the flag is unsportsmanlike. This isn't the first time this principal has had problems with our flag.

I think, given that statement, he was a little TOO proactive.

I agree with if they had been using it as a means of harassment. But, you might as well write me a speeding ticket now if you think I *could* speed in the future.

The principal banned the wrong thing. A true patriot would have banned the people that have a problem with the US flag, be they white, black, yellow or purple. If I were a parent of a child at this school I'd demand the principle be fired immediately. The players should refuse to play for such a principal. The parents should refuse to send their children to a school led by this guy. The only wat things will change is to stand up and demand it.

As for the cop. Police such as this guy will be amoung those that come to strip us of our 2nd Amendment rights when his "duty" calls for him too. A true patriot he is not.
