Don't forget everyone to apply for Doe tags.

The photos of Joey smiling while opening the box, inspecting the scope, then checking it out on his new Tikka are priceless.....

Thank you so much Chuck for making the young hunter so happy.

I went in and found out that my zone is "hunter's choice" this year.

Apparently "if it's brown it's down" is an official type of tag now......

So sorry to hear Buschy.

That has to be a huge loss for you guys. Thinking about you and your family as you go through this. I'm glad that you got out shooting with the family. That helps kick start the healing process I'm sure. Sorry again for your loss.

Special thanks to Dave the Chickenbuck crew for letting us watch CBJ grow up before our very eyes. The look on his face-that ear to ear smile says it all. We are lucky to be able to witness this. The kid's gonna have a fun deer season Dave. Ya done good, sir.

Well, I purchased my rifle season tag this morning and I did apply for antlerless lottery. I sent messages to the other adult chickenbuckers to remind them all to do the same.

Something clever here.

I haven't shot a buck since 2012. A few does is it. It's all about the kids for the next few years as far as I'm concerned. As long as they get a deer and learn how to hunt and be an outdoorsman, I'm cool.

I'm praying to draw a SD buck tag next year though and finally hunt with Ryan again.

You'll have to start jogging so you can catch the old lady during the November rut.

Same here, Tom. The barrage lasted well over and hour before it died down. Sounded really close by.

South Carolina low country deer season opened August 15th.Archery here in the up country opens September 15th. followed by muzzle loader on October 1st.and regular gun season opens October 15th.
We can purchase up to four "use anytime" doe tags for $5 each. I already bought two. I used to buy four but never used all of them. I bought the extra ones just to give a little extra money to SCDNR. This year for some reason I only bought two and I will probably only use one of them.
We had work day at the deer lease last Monday. Bush hogging, food plot tilling and planting and general clean up.
As of three years ago baiting with corn is legal and we will be putting piles of corn on the cob out. The on the cob draws them and makes them stay longer than just loose kernels.
Hopefully I will get one nice deer.
I wish each and every one a great deer season and I look forward to seeing pictures of "fuzzy wind chimes" at Chickenbuck.

If you have to take a second shot then you probably shouldn't have taken the first shot.
