Nice, I had a chance at one a couple of years backk but turned it down because finding good brass was a bit of a chore. Nice thing is now that problem is over.http://www.captechintl.com/proddetail.php?prod=35WIN100pcs Just finished stuffing a bunch of them hulls the other day, Ranch13! They look like good brass. Desertoakie , nice iron!!!! I've just about decided to keep my old .35 a .35! Use it as as knock about rifle on the ranch.

They make really fine brass, been really happy with the 44-77,45-90, and 40-70 st. Think I 'll call and see if there's a chance to get them to make a run of 32-40.
the most expensive bullet there is isn't worth a plug nickel if it don't go where its supposed to. www.historicshooting.com

I wonder if the current rifles with walnut stocks will ever reach the beautiful patina such as your new rifle.

Had this 95 with a refinished stock. Lots of proud metal around upper and lower tang. Fitted this old refinish 94 stock to it in about 30 minutes. Not as much proud metal anymore. A little along lower tang. But feels and looks a bit better. Still kept the old stock.

Well believe it or not, I finally got the opportunity to get out and do some serious sight work and shooting with the old beast. After a bit of tapping for windage on the #21 has her singing quite well at 100 yards off the bench! I was pleasantly suprised at how well she shot!!! Shooting 48 grains of IMR 4320 and the old Hornady 250 grain RN that is no longer in production. I was lucky and scored several boxes.
Also tried some 200 grain Hornady RN with 50 grains of IMR 4320 and to no suprise they shot a bit higher at 100. I figured they would. I have the 21 cranked all way to bottom. And it's perfect for the 250's. I'll just do some more work with the 200's. Actually they are both very pleasant to shoot. I just like the 200's as that a great bullet for south Texas deer and hawgs. And easy to get
Plan on several more shooting excursions. Usually I like to set up my 1 gallon water jugs, full of water,at assorted ranges and shoot at them from assorted positions. Adds a bit of fun to the practice.
No target photos as I find them boring. But there will be dead animal photos when available in the appropriate thread. C'mon October!!!

You might consider the 250gr Kodiak flat point, have had great success in my 356's. Accurate and expands perfectly, available online from Alaska bullet works.

i have had a hard on for a 95 in 35 or 30 govt. for near on 60 years now and have never gotten one. need to take care of that problem soon, don't have much longer to scratch that itch. to me they have sexier lines than any other lever except the 99 savage.

Deerstalker,
I'm very pleased with the rifle's performance. Especially in the hands of someone blind as I'm getting. Started out shooting with my readers on. Took em off and the groups magically tightened up real nice! Go figure.
Think it had lots to do with the sweat that was pouring into my eyes yesterday! It was warm before the rains started. Planning my next session for next Friday with young son.
Good luck with finding a good '95! They are still out there!

The 250 Kodiak flat point is a tremendous bullet in my 35/348 Imp. The Hornady 250 round nose is about as good.

Thanks Moose!
I had a few Hornady 250 spire points here so I loaded up a few of them to try out too.

Been doing a good bit of practice with the 35. It's a shooter. I've tried both the old Hornady 250 RN's and the Hornady 250 pointed bullets and they bot shoot almost the same. Least I can keep both in the 10 ring at 100 yards.
48 grains of IMR 4320 seems to do the trick
Now those Barnes 200 grain TSX's shoot a bit higher at 100. And I did up the powder charge up to 50 grains of same powder. I'm not changing any sights as that 250 is my go to bullet. And it shoots too good!
I will also mention I am shooting off cross sticks. And this rifle does sport a Lyman # 21 receiver sight. Also no issues with the new Jamison's brass. Some cases on third loading.
