Man an hour ago snow seemed impossible. Temperature is plummeting.... heavy clouds coming in... this could get interesting!

Being a gringo never bothered me.

Have not been all over the state,but where I do go it's gorgeous i.e. the mountains.

Being a gringo is fine... didn't like all the fighting growing up. Whatever. Still got all my teeth.

What mountains?

Got in a few fights growing up,mainly Junior High. Was left alone in High School.

The Gila's and Sacramento's mountains.

I was pretty good at getting my ass kicked.

We've talked about the Gila, I've packed into the Iron Creek area behind Snow Lake several times. Drank from a spring and got beaver fever and farted Death Farts for about a year afterwards.

Killed my first elk not to far from Snow Lake.

My very first elk hunt was in the wilderness area just south of Snow Lake. Cannot remember the name of the creek we crossed to hunt the area,as it was the northern boundary for 16B.

Actually I'm back in camp now to get warmer clothes. It went from warm to COLD.

I'm stuck working within about 1/4 mile of my rig due to my [bleep] hoof. I don't like sitting and watching all day, I'm bored out of my SKULL. Hopefully this weather will get animals moving. I suspect most of the bucks are above me; I'm at about 7700 feet. The mountain goes to 9500. The other two times I hunted here I was up top. It looks like this:



My string of tagging out opening day here ends at 2..... but both those times I packed in.

Mulie hunting is addictive! Love the open country.

If my foot holds up to the "challenge" of the minimal hiking I'm doing, I may try to pack in in a couple days. I've got a spot in mind that puts me within reach of that canyon behind the lake there (Wildhorse Canyon) coming up from the east side of the mountain. It'd only be about a 2-mile pack. Problem is getting the deer OUT of there. I haven't walked normally in a month and my legs are NOT in fightin' trim!

Interestingly, the herd of 7-8 beeves across the canyon (this is BLM) just lined up single file and are beating feet out of here.

That maybe speaks well to this getting the deer moving?

And no I didn't put crosshairs on one. I would never.

Tract_Optics. I would advise you not deal with Bigstick. I have seen him on video actually throwing his guns on the the ground at a gravel pit , and have seen him have his son throw a scope around in his back yard just for fun,and Bigstick, telling the kid to throw it hard into the base of a tree . Many here know this is true . I would have personal messaged you but you would might think I was slighting him behind his back so I just decided to post it. He will ruin your scope and send it back to you to fix it for free and you will most likely pay the postage besides. Later, I hookem. Also, he seems to take pictures with his guns in the water next to every fish he catches. I doubt any scope would deb covered under warranty under these conditions.
