Wouldn't be her fish,if she weren't.

The mount depicts her name and the date, for that very reason.................

Got spooled and was counting wraps,as I leaned as hard as I could on the rod and then had to thumb the spool and bust my jig off at the mono leader, while pointing rod tip to the fish.

No runnin' room there? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Huntr ...

"Sporty Spice" is the name of that rifle ... and if I recall correctly, it might just be one of his absolute favorite rigs ...

I'll leave it to him to give you the particulars, and to tell you just how much he dotes on it ...

Seasons on clusters?

If the water is anywhere close to accomodating eggs, I'm there. Sounds like your choice as well. That's when the take, mostly in these parts.....so subtle. No bait/artificial seasons here.

Kings mooched with a cut plug and eggs drifted at steelies....it's the take that makes it all worthwhile. Head shakes good too, swin ups and the ensuing craziness, even better. Not knowin' how it'll all go....... long before the net/bank....the best.

No rinsin' the gear anyway after that trip, at least if it were here. No place here tidal water goes that far, but AK...I don't know.

Again, nice trip.

Water into the timber,we were on the dike edge of a Beaver Pond, trying to reach a riffle.

Needed Jeezus slippers,to slow the woe and I'd left them at home................

I growed up Bouncing Roe and it's my bread and butter, but simply not an option. It's a Seasonal Thang, that changes like the tides.

Water isn't brine, just brackish muskeg runoff, which is very much typical.

Had Tidal zones in my Native Orygun, that went 9-ish miles easily. Catching Spawning Stripers in a Steelhead Riffle,is a crazy good time.

That's March-ish and the water's typically sedate,so you could hustle the bank,if mono reserves ran low. Loved pitching jointed/floating Rapala's,in the Moonlight, during that March Madness.

Pitch upstream, above a riffle, let it swing crossbank and work it at a quarter to you and you could HEAR the strike, before you felt it.

Stripers...is FUN................

They're all good, but I especially like the picture of your Grandma and that Striper. She's pleased! She has every right to be, too!

Same picture as you paint on the Olympic Penninsula. Ultra clear deems ultra light...fish working their way through the riffles with tails exposed in July, not-so December, deep wall with fish lined up but spooky. Small baits, ultra hand honed #1 Gami's, 8lb. Max ultragreen, no lead....dink, dink...BAM!! 2 aboard by 7 early.

Fella says "well you sure know how to catch 'em, but you don't know the rules. You've got your two fish...why you still fishin?" "You can still take 6 salmon.....right!!" Bait finds bottom in the belly.....dink...dink....BAM!! Oh sh**!! Now what to do? 24 lb. King hen, bright and crazy.....LOL. 4 days fishin', first salmon that took...revived her in front of azzh***....grinned....alot.

I always get outFished/outHunted...I just like to take pics.

Weather is tough here, the winds are crazy and the rain worse, but we'll chase things in the AM,regardless.

Tomorrow will be a large bean day,if'n I had to speculate...................

Grew up abusing them,in freshwater...................

I sure appreciate you posting the pictures for us less fortunate, I did not get to hunt/fish or even get off the pavement this year.
I sure notice in all the pictures that it is for sure everybody in the family got the looks.
What in heck happened to you! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
