I understand a POTUS isn't a dictator, and I'm glad to hear you remind BOTH sides of that. There's been a whole lot of inflammatory rhetoric that basically ignores that little detail.
MM asked for silver linings. For me, pro-Choice SCOTUS appointments are one.
By the way Trump's bluntness about appointing judges that'd overturn Roe v. Wade was electoral suicide.
POTUS is a done deal. Clinton it shall be. Focus on a counterbalance- Congress, especially the Senate. Kill babies OK Take away the second amendment OK That's what you'll get with Hilary court appointments, how in the hell can you support either? These people are incapable of a rational abstract thought on any subject. Moreover, anybody that thinks Roe vs Wade and the state sanctioned murder of unborn babies is a good thing really needs to be staked out as coyote and buzzard bait.

Church and state.. Listen very carefully. The baby inside the mother, is a different person than the mother. The DNA is different, the sex may even be different. It is a different person. It is NOT the woman's body. This is not a religious argument, it is a scientific one. You have also boiled "women's health" to one issue - abortion. Continuing on that vein, you THEN assume that pregnancy is unhealthy, and an abortion is a healthier choice than continuing with the pregnancy. That is absolutely untrue, in nearly all cases. This is not from a religious perspective, but from a medical one.

wtf? The Constitution does not state there is a separation of church and state. That was in the Federalist Papers, but not official. As an aside, freedom OF religion does not mean freedom FROM religion. If it did, you could not (logically) be able to freely practice a religion. Islam presents a bit of a sticky wicket, as it is a religion that demands it also function as a form of government. In view of that, and because it would prevent adherence to the very document that allows it - the Constitution - it is also unconstitutional, because it demands a state religion.

Okay...I'll try and explain this as best I can...If Hilary is elected and can fill the supreme court with liberal justices that issue rulings based on an "agenda" other than using the constitution as their guide line, we are done and the constitution as it was written and as it was intended is a thing of the past...At stake is every friggin one of your civil rights. The passage of Obamacare (I think) set a precedent of the Supreme Court actually writing legislation instead of just ruling on the constitutionality of it....do you REALLY want 9 liberal justices writing laws????

The biggest thing Trump will stop is the mad rush from Clinton to Bush to Obama in creating a culture of weakness. Our students are deprived of their opportunity to develop the grit and hardness necessary to man the helm of the best Nation in history. They are creating young people who need safe spaces and are offended at the slightest correctional method. This Commification of our public education system will destroy our nation in a whimper instead of a shout. We are growing to be a weaker people not a stronger people.
I took a teacher pre-test given to starting teachers that has been distributed across the Nation to public school teachers. You would be amazed at the number of Universal declaration of human rights questions and transgender questions were on the test. They have already changed the narrative and we are quickly becoming a Socialist nation. The end game is one world government and an end to a written constitution.
Hitlery People are on this wagon. Obama's action on changing the nature of public education is his greatest destructive measure as President.

I'm not a Hillary supporter and will not be voting for her. To your point, on the theory that every cloud has a silver lining, the positives of a Hillary POTUS would be:
-defense of Roe v. Wade;
- more respect for the 4th; not that she's good but Trump is a disaster;
- competence and experience in the job since she has essentially BTDT;
- continuity in domestic and international affairs. Yes I know this is a huge double edged sword since there's so much WRONG with the status quo. I personally would much prefer that the US begin an orderly withdrawal from our position as global cop. However those relationships need to be unwound carefully. Trump is a wrecking ball. Same notion with domestic policies. I'm in my 50's and through caution and personal fiscal conservatism and some luck have myself positioned reasonably well. While there's plenty I'd like to see done differently, again, taking a wrecking ball to the current paradigm seems imprudent.
- not Trump. He's not POTUS material. Too volatile, too petty, too ego-driven, too impulsive, and too lazy or arrogant to prep for the job.
My gawd what a disaster. I have never read such disjointed logic in my life.
