That's a good one. Was in a local gunshops a few month ago and a guy brought a model 10 new in the box into this shop. What a pretry pice it was. He was offered $650.00 which I thought was more than fair, the man decline the offer. He took it to another gun shop where he sold it, this shop sold it for $3299.00.
So, I had planned to give this DSM 34 to one of my grandsons. But he didn't want it. He wanted this ratty old beat all to hell, Remington model 34 I had. My old hog Killin' gun. Ok? Shoots real good, just beat to hell. So I went back to packing this as my primary .22 rifle.

Just seen this gun on my range today, one of my friend came over today with a DSM 34, to bad it was sporterized, shame people do that to a fine piece of art. Would love to have a 100% oringal one.
Mine was mfg by Menz. Evidently that firm produced little .25 auto pistols before the hostilities. This one walked into the shop about 6 years ago while I was still working there. Naturally I had to have it!!!
When a lad, my old compadre whom I'm still pretty tight with, had one. His uncle brought 3 home right after the war. He still has the letter his uncle wrote his dad stating something like "I found us all (the three brothers) the sweetest little .22 rifles. Should be great in the squirrel bottom!" He still has his too! His is a Walther!

Interesting rifles for sure. Germany all forbidden to make military weapons and restricted to sporting weapons only, but this released about a year after Hitler took power.
Made by Menz, mauser and walther? Is that correct?

I think there were several manufacturers contracted to produce them. Not sure just who. But them being marked "Deutsche Sport Modell" (DSM) I suppose was their way of circumventing the Versailles treaty military restrictions.
And yes a very fun rifle!

I can't believe no ones posted any pics of winchesters. I think everyone has owned a 67. Lots of different kinds of interesting single shots out there.

My most beloved 22 is a Remington #4a=rolling block that was my late father's rifle as a boy. Haven't shot it in years, and it's always shot much better than I'd expect given it's slightly darkened bore from corrosive ammo decades back and somewhat crude v-notch sights.
