Aside, far be it from me to argue with a guy that has a 300 WSM MT, 7-08 MT and a re-stocked 223 LVSF... those might be the three most intelligent factory rifles on the planet at this moment...

I should say!
I'm thinking of a 7-08 Montana and all that would be left would be to pick up a 700 223... either the LVSF (definately needs re-stocking) or a 24" bbl'd SS 700.
Course the 375 Ruger has my attention too..
like the way you think Dave... wealthy bachelor like you just needs to upgrade his bins (grin)!

Heck with the guns a wealthy bachelor needs to be calling me to buy some land in Montana........grins
Dave what do you run in your AI, I've a 375 Wby and run R15 and a TSX.
(on a side the pair of Classics I worked with in Wyo is one of many I've had in my paws they all sucked pond water to me and my running lights)

Hell...upgrading from my Geovids will take a while. They broke me....
Do the LVSF '08, and a 243AI that way as well.
The stock does suck though.....

Haven't fired the 375AI yet....I need to send it in next week, to Fit4Duty. Brother Bill is building a twin, for his April bear hunt.
They'll both be shooting 270TSX's.
Gimme a shout sometime, I'll tell you how to focus those classics.....grin.

I love the tube size of the LVSF, now when it comes to the stock the fella who hatched that one should be in the same line as the WSSM folk and the 325 WSM and have someone light em up like a porcupine into a balloon.

I didn't really like my first LVSF .223....I gave it to Uncle Jim for varmints around his place, feeling pretty neutral about the whole rig. Later I bought another, but my enthusiasm was pretty low. I left it NIB for a long time, until Stick made me bring it over to his house. He pulled the stock off and stuck it in a McMillan Mountain Hunter, and suddenly I had a whole new rifle. It's one of my favorites now.
It's handy, fairly light, and shoots good. Mainly the ergos impressed me a great deal, minus the beavertail forend.
I haven't handled the 7-08 version, but if sticking a McMillan stock on one will gimme the same transformation, I'll dig it.
Can't think of any other way to get what I like, as easily. No 'smith required, unless AI is desired.
I even like the flutes now....

.657 rings a bell, spec'd from the web page...but I can't access that from work right now, so could be wrong.
I've never mic'd mine....or any other.
I lag far back, on the tech stuff. Can barely load my own ammo.....

Thanks-when I heard of it coming out I really thought they had something going as I've always the hotz for tubes that go .625 to .65.
Then I saw that abortion of a stock they came out with, the designer of that stock should be given 1K Atomic Wdgy's and the one who signed off on it worst!

what do you run in your 375 AI for powder and heads?

A guy can source an action, order a barrel, send both to his 'smith, etc....or just stock swap one of these and call it good. I like the jewelled bolt, and fluted muzzle.... 'Course, choosing twist rates is another story..... I'm guessing you've seen it before.....instant halibut rifle. I can't take the credit, but I enjoy the fun.. The LVSF no longer comes in -08 or 243, correct?

I haven't loaded for or fired my 375AI yet....I ran Re-15 in my H&H, around 73-ish grains, if I recall correctly...but it was a pretty light load. Worked OK on my musk ox, with 270gr TSX's....but only chrono'd around 2650...

Nice-I've used the 235 TSX and the 270 TSX and both R15 and H4350.
My old 375 Wby still thinks it is a varmint rifle and it is right!
Mine is @ 23", how about yours?
Thx

My H&H is a stock L61R, think it's 24"......the new AI will be 22" when finished...it's a L691....currently 26" if I recall correctly.

BD, Do you know who bought the lodge/camp on Kaluda Bay from Rocky Morgan several years back?? That's a great place to hunt Sitka's. I heard that there have been some major improvements and upgrades performed. Hoping you might know something.
