A month from first speaking to her, 2-1/2 weeks after meeting her. Married a bit less than 3 months after first speaking to her.

Going on 11 years now.

Unless you get clipped before you crawl in the sack with her, some strong maternal instincts go well with the attributes you so clearly recognized.

Since I fully expected kids to be in the cards, I found me a woman who mothers every damned critter or kid she comes across.

I proposed shortly after our first date (Marine Corps Birthday Ball - 1973) . . . we got hitched on March 15th 1974.

Goin' on 5 years now.....

Do you guys have trouble with the wife when you propose to the GF? Seems problematic to me.

I'm simple that way.

awwww,...you know,...we're old now.

I'm older than her by a bit. But she's a woman.

She fixes the bed,..does the dishes,...she's got a herd of cats that run around here,..

I don't ask nothing of her,...she lives here,..I live here,...she's good to me and I try to be good to her.

She likes to look at different places.

She's traveled a lot in Europe and here and there, but she hasn't got in a car and explored America like I have.

We've got a couple of good cars and a little bit of disposable cash,....so occasionally I'll pack up a suitcase and drive us off to some of those old, nice places that I discovered way back when.

She seems to like it.

I'll drive hard fer 2 days and get her up in the rocky mountains,...tell her,.. "Look at that!"

,...and for a while she doesn't think that I'm just an idiot.

I just laugh,....

One month. Married thirty years in February. Don't try this at home.

How long did I wait after what?
57 years ago last September she invited me on a date (Sadie Hawkins type event) and 11 months later we had a wedding. I'm too old to remember what happened when, but somewhere in there she probably told me it was time to ask. Best request I ever made.

5 years give or take. I think that was about 25-26 years ago.

Right at a year...been married 8 now.

About a year and a half, but we lived 350 miles apart so we didn't see a lot of each other at times.

It was some less than a year later when we got married. That was 50 years ago in April of this year.

We were together ten years before she got a phone call from the local Catholic priest to discuss the event...apparently I hadn't bothered to talk to her about it first.

No biggie as I am the centre of her universe, her reason for being, the light of her life...and she is in the other room (or I wouldn't be getting tonight's meal).

5 months but I knew after our 3rd date that this was the woman that would tame me. That was 20 years ago and I've not for one minute ever regretted that decision.

We'd been together seven years, and a leap year came around so she asked me. It seemed like a reasonable sort of request, and here we are still married after 23 years.

A Priest calls after 10 years?

Mormons get to hose 10 women for 20 years before the Bishop gets into it.

,....and even then he just wants to know why it isn't 15.
