I'm a material man not a welding inspector or Level III X-Ray tech, but it sure looks pretty to me.
My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost....

There is nothing I enjoyed more in my career than watching some of the crazy welding we had to do. The best were just incredible.

I have worked with several guys who could do work like that with stick or TIG. Me: I can usually keep the water inside the pipe.

There are welders and then there are Artists
As a welding inspector for the past 27 years I have seen every type
I have seen several Artists in my carrier and when I do it blows my mind on what they can do.

The spacing of the puddles almost looks mechanical as perfect as it is.
I'm not even calling myself capable of mud daubering compared to that...

I watched a guy that taught welding in the Pipe fitters union here in So. Cal. I was his inspector. he TIG welded two Stainless Steel 4 fittings in less that ten minutes. His elbow was just a goin. I had my hood on trying to learn how he Walked the cup as they call it. he was moving so fast that I had a hard time trying to keep up with him and stay out of his way. When he finished it looked like a Diamond Back snake skin and was just a little hazy brown tarnish look to it very little blue That was just 4 months ago. Artists are a joy to watch he made it look like a robot welded it but it was all him. And his helper could care less about what the guy did. I wanted to slap the helper to knock some sense into him.

I'm not good enough to TIG that pretty, but I got so that I could do nice work with a TIG. I was never any good with a stick or MIG welder but a shop that I worked at had a little scratch start TIG that I started playing with. Eventually they upgraded to a Miller unit that had a pedal. I bought the same model when I opened my shop. The thing I like about a TIG is that you can see the puddle as you weld.
With a stick or MIG welder you can't see what you're doing,...you can only see what you've done.

I'll bet that pipe is 304 stainless. It makes those rainbow colors when you TIG it.
